Spicy Ezme

Ingredients

• 6 long red chili peppers (Arnavut biberi)

• 1 tablespoon tomato paste

• 1 slice of stale bread, crust removed

• 1 Turkish tea glass of olive oil

• 1 cup ground walnuts

• 2 teaspoons sucuk spice blend

• 5–6 sprigs of dill

• 5–6 sprigs of parsley

• 1–2 pickles

Preparation

• Soak the red peppers in boiling salted water until softened.

• Peel the softened peppers and remove the seeds.

• Place the peppers, tomato paste, olive oil, bread, dill, parsley, and sucuk spice blend in a food processor. Process until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.

• Add the ground walnuts and pickles, then pulse 1–2 more times until combined.

• Transfer the spicy ezme to a serving dish and drizzle with olive oil before serving.
